Mike Berkofsky has made a name for himself on two continents in two different mediums – and he’s back to do it again.
He began as one of London’s most celebrated fashion photographers then while at the top of his game, he threw it all away to move to Los Angeles and start almost from scratch as a film director. He once again challenged the standards of commercial making and quickly rose to the top of the film heap--- then chucked it all in and moved back to London.
Now he’s back, more tenacious and challenging than ever, constantly seeking higher ground. This time he does both photography and film – because he’s gifted at both. He’s also gifted at spotting talent, as he did when he was teaching at Art Center College of Design’s film department where Jonas Mayabb was one of his students. It wasn’t long before they struck out together.
